Looks like a possible chance of rain tomorrow. Croz's prayers may be answered to slow down the Watertown run game.

Only problem with that is... now his team that hasn’t scored all preseason and has relied heavily on the passing will need to find a way to score in the rain. I don’t know which way he would rather have it??

He actually doesn't care.

I don't know that we've relied heavily on passing as we've worked on passing. We'll be a run first team in the season. Either way, the field would have to be extremely wet, like last year's Quarterfinal game, to help us.

The field being as wet as the quarterfinal game doesn’t help either one of us, unless one of us can line up in some kind of tight formation and run the ball down hill. ( I think you guys run the spread as well)

I hope we learned and have some kind of tight package built into our offense this year. The spread is great until you lineup on the goal line or have to play on a wet field!

Nothing like the T or I formation and running between the tackles.

That’s what won you the ballgame...   The weather and the field conditions were definitely in you alls favor! It is what it is, I just hope we learned!

I won’t disagree with you at all, although I won’t say if the field was in good shape, we would have lost, both teams played in it, we had a game plan for it, you guys not as much. We are a total different team from last year tho as I’m sure you guys are too.

One thing is for certain, you guys won the game. You guys were setup game plan wise to compete in those conditions and we were not.

As for being totally different, we definitely are. I can tell you that if we stay healthy and our line play comes together, we all will be in for a great game week 3.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
