Gallatin vs Station Camp

Dang GWave, I really figured that it was going to take a little more than 1-0 and an impressive preseason before the trolls came back to hate Gallatin. Guess they are hated so much by others, that was all it took. This year we are only realistically hoping for a slight improvement for year one. But get ready to eat your words in the years to come.
And one or two of you peasants spend more time in the 5A/6A threads than your own teams 1A/2A threads. Jealous much? I dont understand all the animosity towards this program. Well actually, yeah I do

1a/2a aka the irrelevant football classes. Their whole town of 400 people show up for the only thing they have to do all week. Since they’re no bars in the town, shoot probably not even a McDonald’s.

It will only get worse and that is fine.  Just let the “W’s” come in.  With every win it will stick in their mind and every loss they will jump on here and boast.  There will be many more wins than losses!!

Can anybody actually discuss the game?

Gallatin comes in with a good win over Lebanon.  Played good defensively and had multiple people doing the scoring.  Station Camp took a loss to neighboring White House.  I saw some video footage and looks like the QB is a big fella that likes to throw.

Not terrible with his legs either. If the line plays well and the receivers do their job he’s dangerous. Had a receiver drop a wide open touchdown among many other drops.  He was running for his life much of the night as well. The running back is shifty and quick

Who is the running back this year??  I agree if the receivers make some catches then this game could get very interesting, they will definitely put it in the air.

I'm looking forward to this week as I still don't know how good any of these teams are after preseason and one week of football.

I've heard people claiming that Station Camp is better this year and hope to fight for a playoff spot. But I've also heard that their line got whipped by TC at the jamboree. Which if true means they are gonna struggle (again) in 6A. And they only scored 7 points against a 4A White House team.

I also don't know how much stock to put into Lebanon. They went 8-3 last year. I highly doubt they do that well again. They lost alot on both sides of the ball. They practiced together, scrimmaged together and played Cookeville at the Jamboree and several people told me that Cookeville was better than Lebanon. And Cookeville lost in week 1 to 3A Upperman.

As always it takes a few weeks to distinguish the pretenders from the contenders.

Lets be honest, MJ is going to be irrelevant this year and its going to eat you up inside.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
