William Blount (1-1) hosts Ooltewah (0-1)

WB hosts Ooltewah for a region game. The Govs are coming off a win at Morristown West and the Owls are coming off a loss to Red Bank. Thoughts?

Red Bank went 11-1 last year and they are already 2-0 this year. The best I remember watching last years WB and Ooltewah game last year was the 48-7 loss. Think this may be a lot better team than Morristown West but who knows this early in the season. Usually takes about three to four weeks in to get a good vib on how the season will really shake out. When I figured WB could win 6 if things go their way Ooltewah wasn't one of them. Love to be wrong. Good luck to the Govs this week.

What has me excited is we finally seem to be solid at the line of scrimmage. Granted, Mo West isn't a top tier 6A program by any means, but WB went up there and dominated them. I think it's a good sign that WB can dominate a 6A team not named Heritage.

Red bank is a really good team, so I dont know if we really know anything about Ootlewah yet. They lost some talented players, but Ootlewah usually has good talent. The race for 3rd and 4th in this region could be interesting.

Well its game day  and a pretty big game for both teams. Feels like the winner of this game will have a nice shot at a top 4 spot.  WB is 3-8 all time vs the owls and a bunch of those were classics. 2005 would be my favorite when the owls came in undefeated and ranked 4th in the state.  Wall hits Groover in the back of the endzone with 40 secs left to win 21-28

This years WB team looks to have a much improved running game and hopefully that can be the difference tonight. 

  Channel 10 news 2 will be broadcasting the game or as always you can catch the govs games on Govnationnetwork.com

Also special entertainment at halftime as I will be racing 4 WB students and possibly making a fool out of myself
