I see more of a issue with TSSAA taking 5 to 6 years to reclassify schools into the proper classifications. Schools should be made to classify by the current years enrollment numbers every year. In basketball there are schools in 1A that have more kids than some schools in 2A. How you gonna let someone in 1A with 530+ kids?

For decades it was 2 year classes, and that was before instant information transfer was so easy. Now the numbers are 5 years old by the end of the final year of a class period. This is especially important for brand new schools through no fault of their own, being able to play in a lower class for at least one year. See: Signal Mountain and their 2A football title.
