Your not wrong in saying hes a great player, because he is. Problem is nearly every post there is someone that says if you stop Swafford you stop Meigs. That's the demeaning part as it insinuates were only good with him. Now if he was to sit out a game we have a replacement that's good as well. It's not an argument really as idc what others really think, Its just funny when teams say they lost basically because he was on the field. When the same blocking would be there to open lanes for next man up, and same defense would be there to stop opposing teams drives.

Your still a good team no doubt BUT any time you lose a D-1 player you are not, will not, cannot play to the same level PERIOD.You all will be in the hunt if he does go down but your chances of making Cookeville diminishes greatly. And if he doesnt play against us you lose HE WAS THE DIFFERENCE!2 picks, big play after big play,180 yrds rushing and passing TDs.Its easy math Yeti!

Hard to say, math is much easier when you've seen all of the equation. As you haven't seen our backup play who ALSO scored on you all with a long td reception near first of the game. Guess as a lesser athlete according to your field of vision it didnt really count lol.

I looked at the stat line from Friday and I saw a few other players besides Swafford that had a pretty good game as well.  Yes, if you stop Swafford then you increase your chances but to think he is all that Meigs has is crazy.

Best player?  Yes.  Only one?  No.

You are 100 % accurate. Our backup qb would be having good games as well is all I've been saying. No denying Swaffords talent as he really is impressive. We just have great depth at that position last year and this one imo. Our backs are getting better week by week as well. Getting alot more touches.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
