4th regular season game in the year 2000 to Halls.  They then went on to win 11 straight and a class 4A (under the old 5A format) state championship. 

To put that in perspective, when Maryville last lost a region (or district during the ill fated Z Plan) game the I-Pod had yet to be on the market.

Apparently they have always had good football teams at Maryville. My dad played for McMinn back in the late '40's and tells me that Everette High School was a tough opponent. I assume Everette is now what we currently know as Maryville High School?

The high school I played at played Maryville Everett in the late 60's, and yes, they were tough.

Since they're calling for rain, does Maryville live stream the game?  Someone in Athens posted this website to watch the game but there's a fee.   https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/maryville-high-school-maryville-tn/game4a20084b3

Maryville High School and The Everett were not the same school.

I knew Maryville was a different school than Everett, but I thought Everett students transferred into Maryville when they closed Everett.

Maryville recruited all of Everett’s players away and they had to close.

The rest went to heritage.
