I meant they are definitely 2nd and maybe 1st but probably 2nd.

I’m not one for really looking beyond games that have yet to be played! I admit it’s both exciting and hard not to talk about a SP GB game. Just one more pesky game separates what I’m sure will be a war of words thread!

On paper both teams should advance with little problem BUT upsets have and do happen! GB is scheming for OS and SP is scheming for Gordy! Best of luck to both teams and it looks like it might be a wet Friday night so I hope they both dodge the injury bug!

I think one thing that gets overlooked with Coach Ryan is that he does a great job of scheming things to get his best players the ball in favorable matchups. GB by 50 again.

Yes coach Ryan is a game changer for sure I would love to see what he could have done with a lot of teams from the past that fell short but had the talent

It’s even more amazing seeing the preparation and thought process through the week of practice. He puts in a lot of work and it usually shows. I know I enjoyed it.

Congrats to Holden Willis on being a finalist for Mr. Football. Great player.
I believe I played a little baseball against him when Meigs and GB were in the same district, and he seemed like a good guy to go with his athletic ability.

Thank you for the compliment. He’s a live wire to say the least lol. Congrats to Aaron swafford as well.

My son was #66 that year.He was right guard.I remember watching film on you guys and thought Oh my Lord you all had monsters on the line actually looked like college lineman not fat neither  good looking team.We went off that night!Wish we had THIS staff that year and we dont lose to CF in the quarters we were loaded just shy on coaching!

I actually remember playing against 66, both in my Junior and Senior years, went against him a few times on defense I believe. Greenback always was a formidable foe, and that hasn’t changed. No matter the outcome, just hoping for a clean, well-fought game with no injuries.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
