Round 3: Oneida @ Meigs

I give them respect.  I'm just trying to turn the conversation back to Meigs vs Oneida. I'd rather talk about where my dog dumped last than to talk about Hampton. They're almost as disliked as Central. Even if our boys thought more of themselves than they should I feel like they are the type to want to come out every week and prove it everyone.  We haven't forgotten what has happened to us in the past. I feel like we have grown from it.

If you mean the truth, yes sir I said it. Kids are all trained from day one of football what NOT to do. You can't help going up against superior talent and getting beat. You can however not penalize yourself and your team by being in control of actions during a game.

No you should know by now posting the truth isn't a problem for me. It just sounds different coming from me since we were the team that won ya know.

Now that’s some real dislike towards Hampton. :roflol:

:bored:it would seem irony is limitless as well. Hampton and Oneida are the same caliber team. They get an edge on offense but overall not much difference between the two. Either way y'all should get a comfortable win Friday whether it was them or us. Just happens to be us again. You weren't this salty the first meeting Turu, you mad bro?

Nope. Just want to defend my poor old Tigers. Have always enjoyed playing Oneida and respect program but I don’t often feel the same respect for our program.  They talk about a few good players but I believe our program is more than just “players”. It’s players, coaches, students, fans and administration. I really hope Decatur shows out this week.

Runner up I think that’s why I’m a little irritated. People think these kids from Meigs just showed up and the wins were easy. I’ve watched some recover from knee operations, shoulder surgery, injury that was supposed to sideline a player for season and he gets back. I’ve heard from several ppl how strong some of these boys are. So they’ve worked for it...  Oneida may come in and get the W but to act like Meigs has gotten the entitlement treatment is a joke.

Whoa nelly, never heard me say that. Every team works hard, it's a given, to act like a team doesn't just because they're getting different results is ridiculous. I never said anything that you needed to defend meigs over. Everyone has kids that come back from injury, sweat during summer work outs, lift all year. That's not unique to any program.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
