Okay Mr. Know it all, let’s put some money on how many current seniors on the Patriots sign SEC scholarships this year.  Blackman has more talent than OHS, I would say even Creasy would agree.

Same message the last 5 seasons, all losses. At least your consistent. This is just me, but I'm guessing the 2 kids that are committed to SEC schools are going to be the ones that sign.

Touché.  I truly hope that Oakland has more than two sign SEC scholarships, but a commitment is far from a signing.

True, but Oakland hasn't had a kid under Creasy get an offer pulled. Moore's situation is a little bit more up in the air since Arkansas is going through a coaching change, but he still holds offers from Memphis, Purdue and Missouri

Blackman is a poorly coached team.  They have much more talent than Oakland.

It dont matter.   Oakland wins the 2 games this year 71-14.   Whatever Oakland has is working out.   And by the way, how about the Mr Football candidate getting ejected at the end for Blackman.    Go Patriots!!

Since y'all Blackman fans don't have anything else to do next Friday night you guys can come watch Oakland play Friday night and maybe reevaluate how much more talented Blackman is.   Go Pats.

When Blackman loses, more times than not I open the newspaper the next day and it has something to do with the refs. I assure you the 57 point difference over two games is not due to the refs. The talent also isn’t that diverse.

I don’t see that the refs had anything to do with this loss, nor do I condone poor sportsmanship.  Oakland was better coached, executed better, and more determined.  They are a good team, but they will be facing a good team with a huge home field advantage.  How many games has it been since Maryville has lost on their home field?  With that said, I have seen videos of the infamous blown call from 2017. It was an absolute travesty.

Read the newspaper article and I have a question....Coach Hartsfield said Conner Murphy got ejected for getting on his teammates.....how does this happen....baloney on the refs.

anyone?

Hartsfield is trying to cover his butt. Blaze had 5 unsportsmanlike conducts, Oakland had 0. Blaze can not control their players as they are the worst coaching staff in the state. Tons of talent but have underachieved every year.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
