I tried to PM you but the board site is saying I don't have that capability right now.  The last date of info from Whitwell that I have is from the morning of Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Yeah,  I'm thinking one has to be a plus member to send and receive private messages.   At least it use to be that way.

Thanks for the info.

In 2 years went from winning a State football championship to having no head coach.

Who are the Whitwell Tigers, Alex.

Alex,  I'll stay with the same topic,  'Oh No We Suck Again'  for 500.

I think Whitwell seen this and decided to name a coach.

This still the "This, that and other" thread?

Hey new idea! Let's de-fund the Police! Yea, the whole land should suffer for the actions of one man!

Too bad they don't push for law, order, respect, honor, dignity, prosperity, mercy, and forgiveness like another man died for....I think His name was, JESUS??!

No, this bunch wants to push for less law, less civility, less accountability so they can take over more easily, all while being protected by their SECURITY who also carry guns....SMH at the hypocrites.

Don't care if you're a D or a R or are neutral, you'd have to agree that these D's pushing to take millions $$ from already  struggling law enforcement forces and pushing them to "serve and protect" with no weapons, no protection for themselves while taking a knee to thugs is just plain EVIL....These demons never take a step without armed security!  Who do you call when you need help? Those that are normal law abiding citizens won't set back and just be railroaded by criminals....That was seen around here this week when "protesters" (aka anarchist) canceled their plans due to "creditable threats against their lives"...These thugs are few in number and barking up the wrong tree even tho they're ANTIFA and foreign agitators!

DC's anti-American D mayor cancelled the hotel rooms for the National Guard because she didn't want their presence at these riots and said she didn't have the money to pay for their rooms; But she had the money to paint on the streets for two blocks! Anyone that thinks this is a black/white issue doesn't have a clue. This is a push to establish a lawless state. Anyway, That sent the NG scrambling to find a place to stay last night....Problem: the NG have been there for months, standing guard and helping during this Chinese virus. No wonder the areas where D's have control are the areas suffering most destruction. Talk about blindly following. SMH

One last thing: at George Floyd's memorial service (which was live on about every station) The ole false REV Al Sharkton said this was just one example of "knee on their necks"...That the knee was on their necks in education, this, that, and the other....My question, why keep voting the way you do! If those things are as bad as he stated, why keep voting for the same party? You had 8 years of Clinton and 8 years of Obama and they did NOTHING! Your party is in power in the House now, and does NOTHING! I wish everyone would pull up the newest video from Candace Owens and take a lesson! But most on the other side will mock her as a stupid, privileged, and an Aunt Tom

I just read that Minneapolis wants to disband the police and THEN figure out what to do. Isn't that putting the cart way before the horse?  That's like saying 'I want to do something different in life. I'm going to quit my job and then decide." Meanwhile bills pile up, utilities get cut off, you go hungry, etc. If you disband first then crime gets truly out of control.

Look, if you can come up with something better than the police then by all means let's do it. If you want to come up with something better than the military, go for it.  A better way for personnel travel than by cars, lay it out for the world to see. If there is a better way at anything then let's hear it. But you don't scrap something and then try to fix it, you find ways to fix it and then lay it out.

Also, how are they going to try to fix it? A bunch of social justice warriors defending what they feel is right but not everything else? That won't do it. An unarmed citywide "neighborhood watch" won't do it.  Even an armed citywide neighborhood watch won't do it.

Do we need police reform? Possibly, but the bad policemen are greatly outnumbered by the good ones. But as with everything else in life, the bad outshines the good. And trust me, this was bad and should never have happened.  Do we need to examine things and find a way where this doesn't happen again? Absolutely. But to throw the baby out with the bath water is not the way to do it.

Some of you know where I work, but for those that don't, let's just say I work making a product that has been around for hundreds of years. We obviously don't make it the same way now that it was made then. We also don't make it the same way now that we did when I first started working there.  We test new ways and new ideas, sometimes for years, until we perfect a way to do things differently.  People like better, people like easier, but you can't just throw something out "hoping" that it will work.  And when you are dealing with people's lives and their safety, then that "ideas and testing" phase has to be spot on or else you end up with things a while lot worse than what you have now.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
