I'm hearing several say they hope Yancy gets the job.

He announced he is no longer coaching. It is my understanding that the only coach possibly left from the staff is Hopper and he is probably leaving. The rest went to Shelbyville too. Maybe some info will come out soon.

Lake County High School has hired Cory Quinn to become the 14th head football coach in program history. Coach Quinn comes to Lake County after a run as the Offensive Coordinator at Alcovy High School in Covington, Georgia. Taking over a program that struggled offensively the previous season, in his only year as Offensive Coordinator, the offense doubled their scoring production. Prior to Alcovy, Quinn spent two seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at Lake Cormorant High School in Desoto County, Mississippi, making the playoffs each season. He also spent two seasons as the WR/DL coach at Hernando High School in Hernando, MS. Coach Quinn's experience includes collegiate stops as well. He served as a Student Assistant at Ole Miss, Tight Ends Coach at Ittawamba Community College, and Tight Ends Coach at the University of Arkansas-Monticello, where he earned a Master's Degree in Physical Education and Coaching. Coach Quinn is originally from Corinth, MS and he is married to Meredith Quinn, from Olive Branch, MS. The couple share a dog named Delta, and are expecting their first child, Charles Barrett Quinn, this May.

Coach Quinn stated, "I am thrilled at the opportunity to be the Head Coach of the Lake County Falcons. The community support, administrative commitment to excellence, and culture of hard work was apparent the minute I first stepped on campus. My wife and I cannot wait to plug into this special community and lay the foundation for many more successful Falcon football seasons to come. GO BIG GREEN!!"

Coach Quinn is currently in the process of reaching out to all players and parents over the next several days.

Sounds like a good one. I am very happy for Lake Co. I just hope he stays for awhile. Him and his wife being from North MS and all their family being from there I hope he doesn’t leave in a couple of years to get closer to home.

    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
    • The lawsuit requests a jury trial. Sable Winfree has extremely competent legal representation. FYI - her lawyer represented the Warren County school system for years, and I believe he knows what constitutes a reasonable lawsuit.
