We'll have a season. The curve seems to be flattening. Some teams will be behind many didn't even have a spring practice. This season will be owned by the more senior-laden teams.

We didn’t, and this was gonna be a big spring because we are losing so much. I’m confident we will have one, but I don’t see it early into August

The curve flattening doesn't mean what most people thinks it does and that is on Fauci in a large part.  The curve has to be suppressed close to zero for it to do any good given that death is involved.  Otherwise, it will just rebound.  That also assumes their models are correct.  Fauci got it wrong in late January when he said it wouldn't be a problem for the U.S. and Europe.  Cuomo was cocky on his interview March 2 saying the were New Yawkers and were immune to this thing. Now suddenly Cuomo is an expert and Fauci is playing the other extreme.

I think TSSAA could let them tack on "spring" prior to the practice for the regular season.  The down side could be injuries during training.  Perhaps just start up like normal.  There have been teams that skipped a spring the past 8 years and actually did good.  SP (Ross Rickied), Jasper (TSSAA sanctions) and Whitwell (coaching changes) come to mind.

Edit:  Maybe add an additional week leading up to opening for the incoming freshmen.

Greenback hasnt had one the least 4 out of 5 years.Off season work is in my opinion more important. Most kids start playing at a much younger age now and know fundamentals. We also made the finals 4 out of 5 years also.:thumb:

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
