It will be an interesting region to watch.  I don't think any team is outstanding, but it was week 1 without any scrimmages.  Squatch of course played maybe the best team in 1A.  Upperman played a 6A team and York was quarantined up until last Monday.

York will be much better. They missed two weeks of practice. The weather was bad and seemed to effect York more...5 turnovers including at the goal line with seconds to go. They looked like a different team with four minutes to go but ran out of time. Last year I didn't think they used Gibson enough. Last night he had an outstanding game, but I think things would have been better had they given him a break and used Copper more and a couple of others. JC could just key on Gibson...but he still had quite a few big gains. If they start mixing it up, he'll get a lot of breakaway touchdowns. Like most years they really need to work on pass defense but did get two interceptions.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
