South Pittsburg vs Grundy County (Captain Victory vs HoneyBee Hayworth)

I have made us this thread to talk about the upcoming game at Beene Stadium, August 28, in the year of our Lord 2020, that pitts the Pirates of South Pittsburg against those Yellow Jackets hailing from the county of Grundy.

That Hayworth man didn't even fill out his survey for Roy's precious book and I can almost hear him now complaining about it.  I have no idea what has happened to Roy this season but the last I heard, he was getting his temp checked at the Sequatchie game and the thermometer broke off inside him.  :o

Thoughts?

I'm going on record and say we win this game.

I’d like to see us play power offense.  I believe Kelly could get plenty of touches to help his confidence.  He was slipping and sliding a lot at Dunlap last week.  Frame really benefits from the spread.  I like the idea of having him and Frame in the backfield at the same time, but I don’t think they are the same type back.  Just my opinion.  Btw, we should get to see the backups in the 2nd half.  Oh and shout out to our freshman kicker!  I say we try a FG inside the 30 this week if we are stuck with 4th and long.

I thought the freshman holder did well last week also. He scooped a couple of low snaps and put them down for our freshman kicker to knock home.

Yes AND he made the right decision to take the one high snap and try to make something of it.  He wasn’t successful but they brought a lot of pressure on that one so he was running for his life.

Speaking of, that’s a huge concern regarding bad snaps.  It really messes with the timing of a play when snaps are having to be fielded like a baseball while in the spread.  I know we will work on it this week and get better.  Walters is a hard worker so he will get it right.

Are Grundy and Sewanee really co-op on football? I know I saw that somewhere, if so, any idea of the mix? I know it really won't matter - clock running by mid 2nd.

Yes, they are co-op beginning this year. Grundy is still way down, the program is really struggling right now.
