I didn’t think either of them looked particularly good tonight. Not sure either is a fit for what they’re trying to run to be honest.

Brown just got released this week so give him at least a little of a break.  Having not practiced for the past 8 or 9 weeks, I did not think he looked that bad.  Stanley plays hard too.

Yeah, not knocking either one or questioning their effort. Just not sure they fit the system the staff is trying to run. That said, just being released certainly has an effect.

I would personally like to thank the Green Wave band for the concert they did every time Henry County had the ball. It was like putting music to highlight plays. Really got the HC fans fired up and the HC players too. Even the coach was dancing on the field. And to top that off, when coach Counce said something to the person who appeared to be the director, she decided to try to shout him down and scold him.  He pointed to the scoreboard and walked away. Its disrespectful for a team's band to play every minute you have the ball to try to make it difficult for the coaches and players to communicate. May have been why the dogs weren't called off till the last drive of the game. The Gallatin players held themselves to a high standard of sportsmanship the whole game and my hats off to them for their great sportsmanship during the game. This being said, the band WAS really good though but the director needs to learn some etiquette.

If you are referencing what I think you are, that would be when Coach Counce used profane language at the cheerleading coach. The band directors are two burly men who were never talked to.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
