Agree. Could make it a good game in Cookeville. I’ll still take West overall. I’ve watched two of their games and they are just fundamentally sound, athletic and solid on defense! They run the football extremely well! Few, if any, weaknesses. Gonna take a great effort to beat them in my opinion.

Powell is a year away from making a serious run.  In key games they are better in their hype videos than are when it matters on the field.  I'm old school though... win first, let everybody else tell you how great you are.

While this years West team is great and has a chance to win 5A since its wide open

It doesnt compare to the Scott Cummings led bunch that won the Gold Ball a few years ago knocking off three unbeatens in a row

Completely agree. This is a better version of Lowe's 2009 team, which was also very young and a year away. It'll be interesting to see if they can take that next step in 2021.

I’m afraid this Catholic loss will put a damper on West’s chances to make it to Cookeville! Not sure they have the ability to overcome it. Time will tell.... Did they come out of the game injury free?

right...  I'm  wondering if they can right the ship and get wins over campbell county and lenoir City to get them back in the right frame of mind.

Are you serious? What does this even mean? Losing to Catholic will have zero affect on making their way through the 5A playoffs. Zero. The Division II-AAA is basically semi-college level football. It’s no shame whatsoever in losing to Catholic and, to be honest, it probably will help them moving forward. That strong competition will benefit them and they won’t see a team near as good the remainder of the season.

Based on stats from online, it looks like the backup QB went 11/16.  They have to feel like that's a positive takeaway considering most of the O-line was out.  They might be deeper than we realized once they have an o-line again.
