White County squeaks past Cumberland County.   Not sure how that game was close based on what we saw.  CC is a tough team to watch.  Walk the ball down the court every possession.  Run through multiple sets.  Reset and go again.  I was bored out of my mind watching them play.

It was like 10 to 0 Crossville before WC scored. They really slowed the ball down after that, but we fought and clawed our way back for the win. Learn and move on.

Cookeville vs Pickett Co tonight at CKVL.  I know Pickett is a good Class A team but I really don’t think this one will be close.  Cookeville should win by 20 if they play well.   Too many weapons.  If we shoot bad it will be a close game.

Covid Update:

Lady Cavs will be without one of their best players tonight.  That will make this game closer but the Lady Cavs should still win by double digits.

Both White County teams will travel to Johnson City, TN to play in the Roundball Classic this weekend. I believe we both play Science Hill and Dobyns Bennett.

We started out a bit sluggish last night against Science Hill and led 32 to 29 at the half. However, in the second half we played much better and outscored SH 38 to 13 for the final score of 80 to 42. We play at 10am Saturday(this) morning. Go Warriorettes!

I guess this means Clarkrange is a lot better than Pickett co this year since y’all lost to them and beat Pickett short handed easily

For sure that’s not even close IMO.  I would pick Clarkrange by 20.  If Clarkrange shoots like they did against us they would be hard to beat by anyone.  But I believe we would play them much closer if we played again.  We couldn’t make a shot and they couldn’t miss during the second quarter.  I think we would shoot better most nights and they would miss a few threes the first half next time.  But we would still have a matchup problem with them defensively. We don’t have two guards fast enough to guard the Monday twins.  Too fast and too good.  We would have to have a great shooting game to beat them.  We beat Pickett with one of our best players out.  But anything can happen on a given night.

You must have it the bottle before that post.    Vodka is BAAAD!    We don't have 5 teams to compete at the state level.  Not this year.

Stone has a great team.   Something bad would have to happen to keep them out of the top 2.

Warren is building something but is going to need some time.

Warren is still 2 years out from recovery from the Panter era.

They have a very talented freshman class that’s loaded with guards but not much size  and a few kids coming up from the middle school level next year that will be immediate contributors to the varsity squad. Couple that with a blessing from the TSSAA realignment, there could be some special years in McMinnville in the next 3-5 years with the right coaching philosophy.

Thats exactly what I said earlier about help coming.    But they appear to be playing well right now.  I haven't watched any of their games yet but they are beating teams that beat them last year.  Getting some good scoring from some freshmen this year.    This district is loaded again so I expect them to struggle in district play.  But that doesn't mean they aren't improving.  Nice start this year.  Good luck the rest of the season.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
