Why, if the SCHD only cancelled playing the game? I haven't heard of any official statement from the DB side that "they wanted McMinn to forfeit". Only McMinn, the health dept. or the TSSAA has any say in if there is to be a forfeit.

The SCHD felt like they did the proper thing last night by cancelling the game. Any decision now should be between the TSSAA and both schools agreeing on a new date (if the game is indeed played)....and I assume on the protocols from the SCHD since the game would be in their county? I still think the decision should be made today, however. Waiting until Monday will cause all kinds of problems for the 3rd round teams. Sounds like this may have been part of the problem. Additionally, if others were contact-traced and didn't quarantine, then that would be the rest of the problem. blazer1set
If it can be proven that MCMINN broke some covid protocol then the game should awarded to DB. But if MCMINN did not break any covid protocol then the game should be awarded to ....... WHO????

I'm more interested in the people who bought tickets feeling good about themselves this morning knowing they contributed to the TSSAA since you know, TSSAA sure has earned it. I think the 10 day thing is more of a recommendation for their personal life, not a mandate unless it's related to attending school, practicing sports, etc.

You can test negative for 12 days and still not get out of the 14 day quarantine.

But from what I know so far Ii don't see how they could not move DB on to the next round. They are more or less an innocent bystander in all this, I disagree. McMinn County team was there to play. Sullivan County would not allow their team to play. So Sullivan County team forfeits. What am I missing?

Is health department still needed? Best post of all. TSSAA is proving its incompetence by not playing game Saturday night. A poorly run organization.
