The point, staying in 3A and beating the likes of Scott, Kingston, and Pigeon Forge in the region, pounding good teams like Loudon, Red Bank, Milan in the postseason seems cowardly. “We play up” doesn’t carry much weight when there’s no risk involved in the regular season games. “We play where we’re classified” doesn’t either, when the new players arriving or coming in the system as freshmen more than equal out the enrollment. Travel concerns were legitimate last time with some jumping to 5A but not this time, plus with a 6A jump it wouldn’t have mattered. Bottom line, since it must be spelled out, they could successful in whatever class but staying in 3A makes the class’s postseason a joke and it will be even more with Milan and PC going up.

Now let’s see some more funny pictures.

Lol if they went to 4A and win people say go to 5A and when they win there you will say go to 6A and when they win there where do you want them to go Disney Land come on get over it

Maybe Alcoa's Region in 2021 & 2022 can forfeit their entire season to the Tornadoes and they can find replacements for this games like teams had to do with COVID this season.  Maybe their 2021 & 2022 schedule could read:

Maryville

Oak Ridge

Dobyns-Bennett

Elizabethton

Greeneville

Knoxville West

Bradley Central/Farragut/Science Hill (pick one)

Oakland (neutral location)

The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Volunteers (this would probably be labeled as being "too easy" nowadays)

Heck they played 3 6A schools this year and won 2 out of 3

Um some do

Then quote the proof. Every Oakland poster I've come across regards Maryville as nothing but an equal. Everybody tosses around these pointed adjectives at schools like Maryville & Alcoa, but the truth is it's easier for everyone to lob these accusations instead of doing the hard work that these schools have done to become the gold standard of how you build a program

If Alcoa went to 6A there would be no Maryville in the picture and you guy’s be complaining about how they get all the players in that area

    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
    • They struggled to field a team last year. I don’t see them being much better?
    • sx good two know thay didun't waint that entarr citty two see yeller/red......
    • Couldn’t agree more.. Tate is a special kinda player , but fortunately for us we get a best of 3 series. I think our pitching is better than last year when we made the trip to west tn. Should be a fun 2 or 3 games.
