I wont dispute that really. We have a team full of good players and a handful of great players. Kids like him really are few and far in between.

I hope no one takes that as a knock on any kid. He was a special player that some took for granted at times. If you have a Westmoreland type kid go ahead and write your name on the gold trophy lol.

Nah, I saw him play he was destined for Saturday and Sunday ball. People that take offense probably havent seen what an NFL caliber player means to a high school team.

Just ask Jasper about the Trezevant kid in the championship game.  He reminded me of Westmoreland, but Westmoreland was faster.

Exactly. CR was a man among boys in those games. I will say though the best rb I feel MC ever faced was Leroy Thompson of Austin East in the mid 80's.

Nothing new. . but I think Meigs and Marion battle it out in this region.  And the more important game between the 2 will be the 2nd time they play.  This will be an exciting matchup.  I think I will try to make this game, assuming the season goes the way we all think it will

It hasnt and probably wont,if it does it wont be against the type of competition those teams played back then.The 2A teams now dont come close to those of that time.He was the best HS player I've seen in person.A physical Phenom.Not to mention a Stud at Penn State also.

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
