State tourny in cookeville?

Heard today on the radio that there is a good chance the state tourny will be at tech this year because mtsu and lipscomb dont really want to because of covid. Thoughts?

How big is Cookeville’s  gym?? Last meeting TSSAA had I thought they were playing in gyms in Rutherford County.

He is talking about TTU gym. Hooper Eblen Center.  It holds around 10k.

If they have limited ticket sales why would they want to host it?  Only people making money is streaming service.

Why would there be limited ticket sales?? They did away with restrictions. You saying Tennessee Tech would have restrictions?? TSSAA surely wouldn’t do that and lose all the ticket sales. Be better to play it in HS gyms in Rutherford County if they restrict fans.

I think TSSAA will find a way to have it in MTSU! They are still saying a 1/3 capacity for fans! So it’s 11,540 capacity so 1/3 is still 3800 or so fans

They are not going to cut their money out. They will play at HS gyms. All these colleges won’t have fans.

The state of Tennessee  may of lifted the executive order but the TSSAA still has their guidelines in place and add on top of that local orders and tickets will be limited for all events this winter at the TSSAA championships.

It will be 1/4 or 1/3 capacity is what was said in the article with TSSAA guidelines of social distancing and masks. Why would TSSAA change from a venue that will allow money to be made to a college venue that don’t allow fans or is worse than a HS venue?? Last meeting they said that Rutherford County’s HS gyms was a strong plan B to Murphy Center and after each game the crowds will leave the gym and the next games crowds would reenter. Straight from the meeting. Pull it up.

All I am saying is it don’t make sense for TSSAA to go to a college venue that is not allowing fans if Tech don’t allow them.
