Since the tournament is smaller this year, any chance they can try and really seed the thing this year?  At least seed the 8 region champs.  Its a year of change, might as well push to make some changes for the better.

You’re all asking way too much of TSSAA. We should all know by now they’re going to do the least amount of work possible.

Number 1 ranked 182 pounder Owen Zuckerman loses to unranked Wyatt Lankford in the region 8 finals.. that means there is going to be a region champ have a very tough first match next Saturday.

In the past, they have mentioned making it a requirement for all coaches to put all their information into track and using track to seed the tournament.  This is the year of change, the tournament is half the size, if I were coaching I would push for it!

If you seed the 8 region champs the bracket would be:

Top Half:

#1 seed vs #7 seed's runner-up

#8 seed vs #2 seed's runner-up

#5 seed vs #3 seed's runner-up

#4 seed vs #6 seed's runner-up

 

Bottom Half:

#3 seed vs #5 seed's runner up

#6 seed vs #4 seed's runner up

#7 seed vs #1 seed's runner up

#2 seed vs #8 seed's runner up

Yeah but the difference is they had no choice but to move the tourney. This is asking them to go out of their way to do more work.

Region 7 has a similar issue. Chris Calvin is a state runner up and comes in with the 1 seed today at 113. Owen Gobel from Franklin medaled last year and has the 3 seed behind Jarvis Little of Summit who has been wrestling really well this year. One of them wont qualify.

That’s crazy to think one of those kids won’t make State.  All 3 very good.
