I have never heard soft used to describe a HC team and I really have no idea what to expect next week as you visit Beech.

I don't either. Funny things tend to happen in week 1. We may come out next week and give you all the game of the year, but tonight was...well...one for the burn pile.

Until I see otherwise, I expect nothing less. This is always a game I look forward to.

When that half-time score started spreading through the stands, everybody was shocked.  Did HC have any kids missing for Covid or just get outplayed that bad?

Yeah one or two that I know of but that wouldn't have made much difference honestly. Just got manhandled by a dang good 6A team.

Yeah I think we had a few who were kept out for contact tracing, but not enough to make a dramatic difference in this game. For the most part, it really was that bad.

If anybody has been paying attention to the scrimmages and then tonight too. This has potential to be the WORST defensive unit i may have ever seen from Henry County. Im just calling it how it is folks. I know the coaches and people don't wanna cause panic but I see a major cause for concern if something doesn't change in a big way.

Deal with it, like bad seasons strike every team. HC has been good long enough. “Cause panic” lol lose the ego and deal with a potentially bad season… even though y’all still may be decent.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
