To be fair, any fan wants their team to win. I'm not a fan of this gauntlet of a schedule we seem to have every year. If you aren't winning, fans won't show up, fans won't be as enthusiastic as they would if we was winning more. Thats just how it works. I dont suggest we have the easiest schedule, but I think they should lighten up somewhat on the scheduling of games. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not crazy about the frontloaded schedule either. It takes too much wind out of the sails. I loved the week 6 or 7 Germantown game we played for those few years when they were strong. That was a perfectly placed, tough, mid-season opponent and both teams were usually at their best. Even when we lost to them it felt like we got something good out of it. For week 1 I'd rather have a tune-up game to give the team some confidence.

But I know a lot of that is out of the coaches' control, as they're beholden to region schedules and the teams gotta have mutual open dates for it to work. Plus, I hear a lot of the local teams simply will not schedule us. We were probably fortunate to get South Gibson and Tilghman.

It is nice to have a region opponent like Springfield to balance out the back end somewhat.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
