Okay guys, UC is coming off of a hard fought win that actually should have been won going away. Ripley is coming off of a loss to 4A Powerhouse Covington in which the Tigers held the Chargers to a season low 30 some odd points. Ripley scored 20 in this game. If my Tornadoes want to be competitive they are going to have to clean up some penalties and silly mistakes. This is our first real test since USJ. We need to be focused and on point. What say you?

If Ripley goes back to the Wing T then this week it could be a 8-6 game with a missed 2 point conversion as the deciding factor. Two teams that don’t mind quarter long drives could make for a low scoring affair.

I believe Ripley gets it going this week and puts up more than 8 points in this game. Ripley by 2 scores.

Union City pretty much handled the Ripley Tigers last season. New year and new teams, but should be a good game with UC going to Tiny Knee Stadium this year. If Ripley plays defense like they did against Covington and can run the football, they should be just fine, but consistency isn't the Tigers best characteristic. Expected a bigger score differential in the UC-GC game, so I don't quite know what to think. I'll take Ripley to take this one at home, 28-14.:thumb:

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
