Playoffs - Round One - Oak Ridge at McMinn County

After a win at home tonight, Oak Ridge will travel to McMinn County next Friday to take on the Cherokees.  Kickoff at 7 PM.  Great job, Wildcats!

As a McMinn fan much respect to Oak Ridge and their football program. Yea I could see this game going either way really

Agreed, just looked at Oak Ridge’s schedule.  Looks like they could easily have a better record.  McMinn had better come out more focused this week.

Don't forget you can search YouTube for McMinn County 2021 High School football or words like that for streamed Cherokee games or highlights.

Or you could just get into your car and drive on over to McMinn County. They got one of them awfully good Western Sizzler Steak Houses down there. Good reason to go see the Wildcats beat up on them Indians. Used to pretty good chili dogs over to the concession stand, too! They got a Indian that rides a horse out onto the field, all sorts of stuff going on down there.

My wife loved the Indian and the horse. Last time we were there, I think it was Tee's senior year, we didn't see the horse. I hope he will be there this Friday. Weather will be cold and maybe wet. If I was the horse I would say, " NAAAAAAAAY " about getting out in the elements.

Does the Mayfield Plant still give tours and a free ice cream at the end, could be another reason to go to this game if so.

Probably no horse this week with the field having been so wet.  I think Mayfields still does tours and have the ice cream shop, but not sure if it’s free.

When I was teaching in Chattanooga, we would take Field Trips to Mayfield's and go on the tour. The ice cream at the end was not free but we made sure every kid got something regardless if they paid or not.
