Here’s some numbers to ponder.... against the 7 teams that made the playoffs...Brighton avg scoring is 40 ppg giving up 46. They did beat an 0-9 St. Benedict team 38-0 that’s a 4 seed because only 4 teams in their region.

Jackets have played 6 teams that are in the playoffs and avg scoring is 23 giving up 11.

Think the field has dried out well from last Friday.

Jackets need to spread the ball around more and get the passing game rolling.

Stuff there run, force brighton into obvious passing downs they will struggle.

Yes! Need to get those kids in position to be more consistent in the passing game. To much talent there. Brighton defense line didnt impress me much against Munford so maybe Jackets will control the line of scrimmage. They give up alot of points.

I expect the defense will be dialed in. I like our speed and toughness in our front 8. It’s do or die time!

Well it is game day, they say they run the ball well, I say our run defense is up to the task. I believe if they are forced to throw the ball around a lot there will be some turnovers, their lowest point total to this point is 20, the Jackets will do better than that...

SPT - 35

BHS - 7

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
