Like someone else said in this thread, this game will set the tone for the next week in my opinion. I think these two teams are more evenly matched than many, mostly McKenzie fans, are thinking. I have always shot it straight so here it goes. Do I think McKenzie has more athletes...yes. Do I think we will win....yes. Will it be the blowout some are anticipating...NO. These two teams mirror each other in so many ways. On the offensive side of the ball, they will jump into spread, wing, or power. McKenzie will do the same thing based off of what that defense is going to show. The QB, I believe it is #9 Woodard, can run much like Cassidy for McKenzie. He can also extend plays and let something happen down field with his arm. He keeps his head on a swivel. The McKenzie defense is going to have be disciplined on the edges and down field. We can't bite on the run or misdirection. Their running backs remind me a lot of Huntingdon's. They wait for the crease created by those big lineman and take off. Again, McKenzie is going to have to keep everything to the inside or have good technique on the outside and stretch those backs to the sideline. The line, as with most games, is where this game is going to be won or lost for both sides. Can McKenzie's offensive line give Cassidy time to throw? Can they open just enough of a hole to allow Taylor or McCreary to get 5 or 6 yards a carry? Notice I didn't say bust the long run all night. Can our defensive line and secondary contain the backs and the secondary play solid coverage down field? This is going to be a good one. I will take McKenzie, Comer, and the at home advantage by 10. Spot on . 100% agree with this Go rebels!!!!

Man that kid was good both on offense and defense. I believe the Dogs would have won the gold ball if he hadn't got hurt. I believe you are referring to 2017 when #7/#22 Woodard got hurt (don't remember the year he switched numbers). He went back to State in 2018 when we lost against Whitwell. He was healthy that year. But that Woodard is cousin to QB #9 Woodard. However, there is another Woodard as well, RB/DB #5 which is QB #9's cousin and the younger brother of the Woodard you're referring to. Does that make sense? Woodard's run deep in Bulldog Football history. It's a family tradition.
