2012 was a a tough loss up there and 2006 we got hammered.  1987 was another tough 3rd round loss up there.

Looks like this SP team is coming together. Gordy is tough but SP should pull away in the 2nd half by a couple of TDs.

Actually, they have played more than that.  They 1st played in 1979 and in 1980 during the regular season.

That was before my time. I know, for several years, Gordonsville had to beat half the private schools in Nash before advancing. They would show up and complain about country people, and now are calling and wanting to buy land and move to Gville.

SP beats Clay down 45-7. While Gordonsville only barely beat Clay 21-14. Seems like simple math to me; SP will be too much for the Tigers once again

Canon needs banned. Players having to play in smoke filled area. Shooting off canon before play even over.not very sportsman like.One clay county fan with lung problems had to leave stands and go sit in car not being able to stand smoke. If a smoker can’t smoke around kids nether should a canon. Just my opinion.

Don’t listen to him. These boys for SP have been humbled and broken over the last year. The ones that remain on this years squad know about coming into a game over confident after hearing all week of the state game they only needed 4 plays to beat Fayetteville. They lost. They had a new coach with big time credentials that labeled this team with “all gas, no brakes” but left in the middle of the night after he threatened to do it weeks prior. This left the team with “no gas, all emergency brake.” So, they have felt discombobulated and misled. I could go on and on but the bottom line is this team is not looking over anyone. All true pirate fans know this will be a game coming down to the wire. Has SP improved dramatically since the start of the season? Yes. Some of that is getting bodies healthy. They know what type of game they are in for Friday night. Hats off to Wes and Heath for riding the ship, caring for the boys, and finding stability to patch up the ship that had holes in it at one point this season.

According to this logic, you would also ban pregame fireworks, smoke machines, etc…

It’s called entertainment. Not all schools are lucky enough to have it.
