D2 - 2022 thoughts

any thoughts about next year?  i'm a AA guy but loved following A and AAA.  any early thoughts about A, AA or AAA?

do I need to talk trash about some schools to make it interesting?

I would think in AAA and AA McCallie and Lipscomb would be the early favorites.  Both are losing a lot on the offensive side.

Watching the Bills-Bucs yesterday I realized BA has 3 grads playing in the NFL- Jalen Ramsey, Dawson Knox and Derek Barnett.  And all starters!  Wonder how many high schools can say that- maybe IMG, Mater Dei?

Westlake in Austin Tx could have been dominant until last year....but still have Calvin Anderson, Sam Ehlinger, Kylen Granson, Justin Tucker.  Include last year and throw in Drew Brees, and Nick Foles.

D2AA - yeah, it will be interesting to see how LA reloads.  I know their 3rd string QB already has D1 offers so hopefully the depth is real.

CPA is losing similar positions as well.  i don't know much about the rest of the division though.

D2AAA - I am curious to see if any of the usual suspects step back up.  someone on here said BA wasn't pursuing football like they used to.  McCallie seemed to have no real competition.

Westlake (Austin, TX) and Coach Todd Dodge will be playing Denton Guyer for the 2021 Texas 6A State Championship on December 18.

I would think LA and CPA with rosters of over 100 kids each have way more depth than most teams.

I agree with previous commenter that there is a lot of unknown that could happen this off-season, but too-early predictions are fun. Just based on talent theoretically coming back:

A-JCS/USJ

AA-CPA/Lipscomb

AAA-McCallie/Briarcrest

Numbers off returning all state under classman , no doubt it takes a team top to bottom but having solid players in off season helps mold the future of programs.  AAA - Pope 4 (one being Soph) , MBA 3 , McCallie 2 ( one being Soph) Baylor 2.   AA - LA 3 (one being Soph) ,DA 2, Lausanne 2.  A - DCA 4 ( one being a Soph) , NC 2, JC 2 , FC 2 . A few schools had one returning .
