yeah, like I said...i'm a little nervous.  I do think LA likes being the underdog so we will see.

what about the franklin co game makes you say that?  I didn't get to attend but sounds like it was frustrating to LA.

It never goes well for a team after a LA loss.  And you are right…I think Dilfer feeds off the underdog role and can get his guys to respond.

Having lived in Maryland I will say that NO team from Maryland should be ranked #1 in the country.  The high school football in Maryland is not very good!

In general I would agree except St Frances school is a different school.  Finished top 5 in unapproved website last year. The football program was basically built with T Rowe Price money.  Traditional powers such as Gilman and McDonough stopped playing them for a while claiming “safety issues”.

There is an HBO series, The Cost of Winning, about Bill Poggi and St Frances.

Wholeheartedly agree on St. Frances.  That guy built it from ruins.  The defense has been one of the best in the country for years, just never had the offense to match.  I have a lot of buddies in the area and we talk about them quite a bit.

just saw lipscomb vs thompson is going to be on ESPNU.  i'm nervous about that game but LA will sure be battle hardened early in the season when they start district play.

Just my two cents, but if LA lost to Oakland last year (albeit close) I doubt they can handle Thompson. Different animal.

WIlliams was another that CPA made room for on the football team.  Now a commit to Liberty.  When the right talent arrives a spot is made available.

Word on the street is that the "homegrown" CPA team with no room in the school has yet again made room for a few football players from Pearl Cohn.  Recon they have some real integration to do based on their language on the field directed at athletes not of their color.  I hope to hear of some real improvement in that area.

Player* and we love that kid. He’s Been thru ALOT and everybody is glad he’s on a solid foundation now. Personally I’m planning on coming over watching a game or two of his.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
