Many years?

Many Years with the best players Heritage had and a bus going back and forth to Carter High School in Knoxville bringing back the cream of the crop there all funded by money people at Arconic. That would put most small schools with an advantage no other team could ever imagine. How dose a school with a 2A enrollment afford a jumbotron that came from the University of Prudue's football Stadium because they wanted to upsize to another one and the old end up at Alcoa High and on top of it someone didn't get their measurements right on the foundation and had to be rebuilt at a 6 figure cost. A place has to have a heck of a backer to cover the cost of that kind of mistake and move right along like no body's business. My argument about Alcoa has always been their heavily backed better than any public school on record. You can't afford all them kind of toys playing teams that don't even bring 75 fans to watch it. Enrollment has always been the biggest lie the TSSAA has ever tried to feed the sheep that believe so. If your financially backed like Alcoa, Maryville, Oakland , Ravenwood and a hand full of other teams most of the battle has already been taken care of for you. All you have to do is show up and give it your best when those two or three games pop up that you need to play your best.

Notice the background. this is what an Alcoa home game looks like against one of their 3A visitors. That's why I go over during 4th Quarter and get a load of those band burgers for half price.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
