Line up 4 of the states top receivers/ tight-end and see if the other team can put 4 people out there strong enough to cover them the whole game. You develop enough to win games and put up some crazy numbers up the talent pool could begin to refresh itself. Good players want to play where they are going to win, or at least have a shot at it. Tygard was defensive mind in his previous life at Ravenwood. Curious to see what he has in store this next season . It'll be interesting to watch in the least. I'm just not a big fan of putting that much pressure on your defense. A 5 play drive or less that doesn't result in points is almost like a turnover. At the end of the day, you still need a TB that can move the chains in short yardage, weather isn't going to be ideal for that offense all the time. 6A should be a little more unpredictable that it has been in years past, which is a welcome change

They have added a stud or two on defense that will make things interesting ... Majority of the defense that played last year were soph/jr's so they have a little more maturity and some experience where they had none going into the last year. I would just like to see some real DAWGS playing the defensive side... ala Connor Murphy Guys who were going to stick you every chance they had. Not sure we have that at the moment

IMO, when you have your linemen pass block all the time, it goes against their nature; maybe I'm just too old school. Experience is nice, but it can be overrated. Fortunately for Blackman, I think most of their problems on defense can be coached up, pretty obvious it isn't for lack of talent. They have a tough schedule, but it's pretty favorable, only have to leave RuCo once and that's in the opener. Don't think it's a stretch that they could be unbeaten going into their game with Oakland

I believe if defense is good they could play Oakland a tough game....Ready for this season to get started.

They’ll be a lot more improved but still have their spots

I would not say the game has gotten soft, but it does not seem to have the same energy in those pads like they did 4-5 years ago

Blackman had that for most of the time until Shad left. They probably would have won a title in 2013 if they didn't try to air it out against Maryville, that running game was a monster

Blaze45
7V7 are great in that they not only work on your pass game, but you also get a lot of work on your secondary on defense...It makes your pass defense better prepared. They added a good linebacker this offseason, and will have a lot more experience and some development compare to the mostly sophomore heavy defense they had last year, Should be much improved ... mondo44
Just saw where the Michigan St commit Demetrius Bell went back to McGavock. With all of the talent the Blaze have at WR no big deal, right?
