Don't agree with some of the predictions, but it's good to get the conversation started. Real football will be here soon enough

About what I would expect, considering the “writer” is 20 years old.

I agree with you. It’s just fun to have stuff to talk about and use to create excitement. That’s the main thing.

Not surprised by his Ravenwood pick. Great QB gives you a chance against anyone. I imagine that one will be trendy with a lot of folks this year. Otherwise, I could see that region going very differently then he does.

Age has nothing to do with it. I appreciate the effort he put in, I just don't think Oakland is the best team in 6A ( at this point) and not going to go 10-0 with the schedule they have. Bradley Central at 4 I have disagreements with. Would probably flip Ravenwood and Oakland

For sure, nobody else is even close.

In years past maybe. Oakland is graduating 3 D1 skill players on offense and losing guys that arent easily replaceable on the defensive line.

Maryville probably won't have much of a problem, but Oakland will have to contend with Blackman, Riverdale and Lebanon (which is probably the best of the 3), while also having to replace IMO the best DC in the state

Who on the east side has a legitimate chance to beat either one of them?

I'll hang up and listen for your answer over the air.

You don't have to hang up and listen, maybe you can set and watch. I don't know if anyone can, or can't beat them. Truth is Oakland lost a whole lot of their offense and some big shoes on the defensive side oft the ball. Oakland will be Oakland, but I don't know if they will be the same Oakland we have seen the last 3 years. As far as Maryville they may well be the top team coming out of the east, but before I go betting the house I might wanna see a game or two. You never know what this season might bring .

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
