I saw Central in person when they played Greeneville. They were down 49-0 at halftime and Greeneville could have named the score. BUT Central was big, strong and Athletic. They shot themselves in the foot couple of times forcing the coaches to take chances they might not normally have taken. They manhandled Fulton. I like Central by couple of scores Dawgs.

I enjoy reading your comments on games you've seen. Very hard to predict early season games with such poor press coverage as we have today. It's almost like living back in the 1930's with such poor coverage.

Thank you Barney! I saw one of the best High School games ever last Friday in West TN. Briarcrest Christian down 28-7 at Halftime came back and with a 2 point conversion with 1:23 left on the clock to defeat Houston High School 29-28.

Betsy/Greeneville this week.

This game isn’t for 2nd in the Region that will be the winner of the Halls Central game. Sevier Co will be fighting for 4th place. They won’t have a chance against Central

What has Halls shown you that makes you believe they are a better team than Sevier Co? They have lost to two teams of lesser talent than Sevier Co. has beaten to this point. And they will go to 0-3 tonight. Just asking!

Looks like the no chance turned into a Win.   Much different team than years past but they are playing hard and good things are happening.

Was anyone at this game that could fill us in on what happened? I was like everyone else and expected Central to run away with this game. Smithee from 5stars said Sevier Countys defense is really good. Are they that good or is Central that bad?

SC has a stout run defense and if you can’t throw the ball they’ll beat you. central can’t throw the ball, but they can run it. central went for it twice inside the 30 and didn’t get it and had j believe 3 turnovers. they’re not bad, just mediocre. 2nd round exit this year assuming they get the 3 seed and play west round 2. SC may go 9-1 and make the 3rd round.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
