Hampton having another great year.  One of the good and under-discussed stories so far. Focus has been on all the teams that are usually up being down, but the Dogs are on their way back to Chatty if they keep this up.

Still plenty to improve on General, penalties killed us last night. Need better focus . But I'd rather 4 and 0 with mishaps than o and 4 without um.

Hampton looking strong again. Will have to come to Tyner in round 4 though. Westmoreland or H20 could also have something to say about it. A lot of football left. I’m just keeping it real

Hampton is good enough to make a run, but no where near as strong as last year.  Cland is down from what they were last year.  I think when the dogs play GP and DB, we'll get a better gage on them

Won't be no gauge when we play DB, We just need to come out of that game healthy. Hard to graduate 9 starters and be on the same level. We do have room to improve and hopefully we'll have the kinks out by the end of the season.

Look at the R1 R2 quad as well as the East in general. They don't have to be.

I appreciate you. If I have Hampton vs Tyner in late November, I am betting Hampton will find a way.

We just need to be better next week, plenty to fix and we'll surely be working on it. Some kids need to play harder, others have to play more focused and know their assignments. I do think our passing game will improve as this week was really our QB,S 1st full varsity game. He's a talented kid and a hard nosed competitor, we have several speedy receivers. We sure haven't played our A game yet.

Chance point is impressive.

I’m not sure the west is anywhere near as strong as last year either. To be fair I haven’t saw UC or westview myself, just off what others have said so grain of salt advisory is in place.

One team that no one is mentioning is Fairly. Know they had a powerhouse and should have beat Peabody 2 or 3 years ago, they may be loaded again. Some of these West teams do the ole Birds of of the weather thing, one year not very good and next year a powerhouse, a few quality studs can make a HUGE difference at the small level.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
