The easier path to semis and even the championship would run through the 1A west next season. McKenzie should be way down next year and Fayetteville and Peabody are gone. If South Pitt is back,  MC could have a great team that doesn't get past the quarters again. What's SPitt bring back in 2023?

Dresden,Lake Co and Union  City won't be that easy.

It isn't about easiest path. Having to travel to Collinwood and WC every 2 years SUCKS

I hope your not a geography teacher at MC. Two teams are a straight shot through rolling hills. The other route is an over the mountain zig zag.

Lynchburg to Waynesboro - 96 miles . 1:37

Lynchburg to Collinwood - 100 miles 1:45

Lynchburg to Sale Creek - 105 miles 2:00

Lynchburg to Copper Basin - 160 miles - 2:50

My thoughts weren't including Sale Creek and Copper Basin. I know those 2 have no where to go so it will not happen but I was thinking more along the lines of

Moore Co

Huntland

South Pitt

Lookut Valley

Whitwell

That zigzag over mountains to their east & south has them locked out of our area.

Yeah, I knew you weren't talking about Basin and if they didn't have football it would be easier to fit a team out of your area into region 3.

And another thought,  has Moore County ever petitioned the TSSAA to move into region 3. ??

I know it would get shot down, but, just curious as to the answer of the question.

That's why the post said easIER to get to SEMIS or even the finals. Next season 1A West will be no where as tough as this year.  I would take a game with Dresden over South Pitt to go to the semis 9 out of 10 years. Two years ago MC was a top 3 team but the #1 team was in their region and they lost a close one in Rd 2.

I know its been talked about but I don't think it has ever been brought to TSSAA.

    • When she starts farting around with the football team the powers in Maryville will run her out of town on a rail and everyone connected with letting her in the door. You saw what happened when Alcoa's radio announcer thought he was coming to Maryville, the people rose up and stopped it.
    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
