5A Playoffs - West Side

Alright guys, let's see your predictions for who comes out of the West side of the bracket? I assume Knox West is the favorite with Powell behind them on the East side and it looks like the West could be any of these potential teams:

Henry County, Munford, Nolensville, Mt. Juliet, Green Hill, Page, Springfield

I'll predict a Nolensville vs. Henry County matchup in the semis, but I wouldn't be surprised by Mt. Juliet making a run at it.

What say you?

I like your prediction.  We'll know Friday night whether Franklin Co. should be in the conversation.  They might catch Nolensville a little flat but the Knights have something to play for - the first perfect regular season in school history.

I think MJ may be the most talented of the group, but I’m not convinced they can put it together four weeks in a row. I’m leaning toward HC making it out of the west and playing Powell.

Unfortunately I agree, I’m intrigued by the team MJ will field, however coaching schemes has me worried about them succeeding.

Also our defense is very streaky, they bend but not break at times… other times they just completely break. Sometimes they get the job done, you just never know.. biggest issue I see when looking at the defense is SIZE and also they’re very young… the LB’s are ok but our Dline is very very undersized. They’re either tall undersized kids or very short guys getting pushed around. That’s essentially how Lebanon and Gallatin found it so easy to move the ball. Any team with a size advantage at the line or a big back has the advantage.

I have not seen Henry co live this year. Seen them online a couple of times and they are impressive as always. I have seen Munford twice this year and saw them last year. Last season they were 9-3. They brought almost everyone back and added 2 transfers. One was a 2,000+ yd rusher from last year and the other a D1 caliber wideout. The qb already had offers but now they are much more dynamic. They are 9-0 and unchallenged on the year. It will be a battle between them, Springfield and Henry Co to see who makes it to the semis.

Springfield will be 1st up as they will get them in the 2nd round provided they take care of business in the 1st round and assuming Munford beats Kenwood which they should. Springfield will be a good test for Munford in round 2...

I agree. I think all three of those teams are very evenly matched.

I believe the opposing 5a region 6  comes out with 3/4 wins. MJ being the only one to come out on top IF they get the 1 seed. White Co. can’t beat Franklin Co. Page or Nolensville… neither can Wilson Central. I also wouldn’t like MJ’s chances against Page or Nolensville. Green Hill probably the most overrated 5a team coming into the season, wouldn’t beat either of those 3 either. IMO

Malaki will be the best player in the tournament. We have one loss on a last second field goal set up by a trick play at MJ. We lost to Wilson Central without Malaki by 3. We are not a favorite but I really believe we can make some noise.

I think that’s a little much…
