Elizabethton vs Anderson County

AC recovers on side kick, runs out the clock with another 1st down.

AC o line impressed me tonight, very balanced attack.  A mobile qb that can extend plays and still deliver the ball down field are the mavs weakness. But  that's most HS teams. If AC doesn't fumble on the 1 it's 35 - 24 AC  which is about right IMO. AC looks about 2 or 3 scores better than Elizabethton.

Elizabethton has some really nice players.  82 was tough all night.  The QB was outstanding.  They had a td with a block in the back but they also dropped a td pass in the first half so I guess it evened out.

I get what coach was doing but I felt we could have tried a few passes instead of runs up the middle. EHS stayed in the game for sure and made it more of a game than it honestly should have been.

I can give credit where credit is due and AC has some great players. 2 RBs, QB and some big WRs that made our guys look tiny. Like I said..if AC doesn't go all the way this can be nothing but a disaster season for them. Good luck with Greeneville. It'll be the hardest test you'll face all year.

Congratulations FM! Big game in AC Country next week. Two 12-0 Football teams. It’s what HS Football is all about.

I don't know that losing to GV is a disaster.  Would it sting? Sure.

GV is undefeated with athlete's all over the field and a great defense.  They are number one,  rightfully so.  AC hasn't beaten them in a looong time. It's true AC will be down next year, we lose a lot. Eventually they'll pop back up again though.

I firmly believe that just like 2018, the winner of this game goes on to win it all.  This game is the defacto championship game. IMO

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
