Blazer, is Boone bringing the band and some fans? Last two weeks no bands and probably 150 fans total between both fan bases of crockett and mo west on the visitor side...

I sure hope our band comes, they are small in numbers but add a lot to the atmosphere and I think they do a great job, it is just not the same without them.      Boone traditionally travels quite well, I can remember lots of games > 50 miles away where we had more fans than the home team.     So it's hard to know, a lot of Boone fans may look at it like "Why would i want to drive 100 miles in 20 degrees to see West beat the daylights out of us..."          And for all the smack talk going back and forth, let's be honest, West is the heavy favorite by at least 20 points.     It's no secret that Boone has some guys out with injuries and West could possibly be the best team in the state regardless of classification.    I can only hope that the fans are willing to make the trip and support the guys and coaches who have worked so hard to make this season possible.  And I feel it is an honor to make it to this level, since 1971 Boone has only to been to the 3rd round 3 times including this one, we are almost always switching over to basketball at this time of year.

Yeah I cant believe how cold it will be this week for the game...I'm curious how many West fans will show up themselves, but they had a great showing this past Friday night despite the threat of rain and it still being wet, so they might come out again despite the 35 degree difference in temperature. Honestly both of these teams have come a long way to where West never got to the playoffs let alone the third and fourth rounds and now this season, being the first they have ever gone undefeated in to this point. Hats of to your guys and I'm looking forward to the game regardless as it is another chance to watch my team play.

@blazer1set I thought it was only the 2nd time in school history to go to the 3rd round?

In 2009 Boone lost to South in the 3rd round and in 1999 lost to Elizabethton.     So this game against Knox West will be the 3rd time.     Definitely unfamiliar territory for Boone.      Is the 3rd time the charm as they say??

Not this time, but congrats on a great season up there Blazer!  Sorry to hear about the qb.

I don't see this game as having a huge gap in ability.  Daniel Boone beat Science hill by 6.  Science Hill just beat Farragut by 21.  West beat Farragut by 19.

Honestly,  I think both Daniel Boone and Science hill have a legitimate chance to win their games.

Science Hill definitely has a shot.  Can't agree on the other.   Danull Boone is really good.  West is at another level.

Common opponents:
Halls...................... West won 35-0, Boone won 37-15
Knox Central......... West won 44-3, Boone won 30-7
Davy Crockett........ West won 56-7, Boone won 35-7
Morristown West.. West won 68-14, Boone won 38-7

Series History:
2011 West won 35-13
2010 West won 33-14

Using A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. yields:

KNOXWESTREBELS = 192.................... 1+9+2 = 12
DANIELBOONETRAILBLAZERS = 239... 2+3+9 = 14

Problem with this comparison is that West put the running clock on at half time. Game was over!  ILB, you'll see the difference in ability come Friday night. Won't be a contest! West is on a mission!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
