I don't see this game as having a huge gap in ability.  Daniel Boone beat Science hill by 6.  Science Hill just beat Farragut by 21.  West beat Farragut by 19.

Honestly,  I think both Daniel Boone and Science hill have a legitimate chance to win their games.

Maryville/Science Hill

West/Maryville

Again, you can’t compare scores

No idea here. West keeps making me look foolish. Boone looks big on D. They haven’t given up very many points a lot like the Rebels. Something has to give this week. Nothing to compare on the schedule really.

Im glad someone said it...Boone defense hasnt allowed a lot of points and West avgs about 44...oridgecat said it best that the West starting defense barely allows 7 points a game. I see Boone is in the 30s? Im curious to see whose ground game will win out bc catching that ball will be like catching a rock.

Friday...get here sooner lol

Well guys, it is no secret that Boone has some players out with injuries, maybe West does too but I have not heard of any.   And all of you have seen the news reports about the drama surrounding the team.... so the bottom line is that West will not get Boone's best game, although I'm not sure it would matter anyway.     I don't know that much about the middle and western TN teams but I don't think anybody in the east could beat West..... well, maybe Maryville and Alcoa but other than tha...   oh wait, never mind...     But as they say, you show up with what/who you have available and do your best.

Boone's offense has been set up by its D all season long with short fields and good field position. I don't think West will give them that. Both D's are comparable but the offenses are not. Boone's line is young and undersized so West will have a major advantage at the line of scrimmage. Boone's D will keep it close for a little while but eventually West will pull away and win comfortably. Boone's only chance is to use ball control, limit possessions, and eat clock. Easier said than done. West by 3-4 scores.

I heard they've pulled their starters in the first half the last two weeks.  Can't imagine they have many starters out.

THIS and AC/GREENEVILLE I wish a journalist would do  a strength to strength comparison of the two teams.  I also wish I could simulcast both of them.  What a great Friday night this will be.  Honestly I think even the OR/Powell game will be a barnburner.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
