And Powell didn’t?… I get it. Only see one side when ML stands on the sideline. We will agree to disagree.

Where did I say that?

Yep.  Lots of talking from sides all night long.  That particular player was just blatant about it.

It’s high school athletics. One of the main jobs of a high school coach is help to raise those young men. Not to see how much camera time they can get for themselves.

and my point was one of these coaches is one of those coaches that you know your son is getting better as a human being as well as a football player. And one of them that isn’t a concern. Just thankful one of the good guys who does it the RIGHT way gets to chalk up the W on the board.

But I’ll defer to your all-knowing knowledge HTV. What do I know?

Nope.  It's the parents jobs to raise their kids.  Nobody else's.

Coaches are great people and most of them are in it for the right reasons.  But they, along with teachers, are there to coach and educate.  Not to raise the kids.

The parents of the cheerleading coach at Powell during Matt’s first tenure there didn’t like him;) Catholic here he comes!!! The refs in the game last night were horrible

Kim Towe was the cheerleading coach then.  Her son played for Matt. I know Kim and her husband well.  Don't ever recall her having a problem with Matt.

Dang KnoxVil who licked the red off your candy cane? I was just stating facts as told by the great Mark Packer. But if you're that hurt by my  post I'm sorry, I'm done on football til next year so you can relax. May be over to basketball threads and may be over to Fulton if Oak Ridge gets to play over there.  Besides got a daughter-in-law teaches over there.

You mentioned Mark Packer and great….. says a lot about you.

not knocking Mark because I am thankful he carries the games throughout the year but come on now.

You definitely implied it. How does teacup not got a flag at the end of the game?? I don’t care if the game is over or not, a flag was deserved.

Kim might tell you why Matt left Powell the first time

Don’t you interject facts into this. HTV knows people and Matt Lowe is a GOOD man. But luckily that GOOD man doesn’t have to worry about the greatest mission of coaching. He’s just there to croot and win games.

Until he sees the well start to dry and calling every school from Webb, Catholic and Cleveland looking for his next stop.

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
