Definitely a hard hit, and not helmet to helmet. However, pretty sure leading with the helmet is what got the penalty

The call was targeting which in the NFHS rule book is initiating contact against an opponent with the helmet. Doesn't have to be helmet-to-helmet etc...

Tennessee 4A State Champions Anderson County Mavericks fun stats:

The Mavericks scored 623 point allowing opponents only 273.

And also The State Champions end up averaging just under   42     points per Game while only allowing there opponents    18. Ending the season at Perfect 15-0

It could not have been done much better than that.

Apparently they don't count all passing yards 2022. They gave Walker Martinez 2800 yards and he also did not receive Mr. Football. Must be excluding yard but everyone else have him a total over 4000. Wow I am sure I am not the only one disappointed. This is a real shock. Wow! I not going to get angry and say something but really is this fair play, IMO

Regular seasons stats only. It's voted on and decided before the playoffs begin.

He got hosed man!  Not taking anything away from Jackson from Fulton because he is a great athletes but not on the same planet as Martinez and they both play the same position.

Jackson was 3 of 14 for 11 yards and 3int’s and 10 rushes for 36 yards against Greeneville 

Martinez was 24 of 30 for 334 yards and 3 Td’s against the same defense.

Voters need to actually look to watch these kids play instead of looking at a piece of paper

Jackson had 1874 passing yards, 1420 rushing yards, and 40 tds. He also had 57 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 3 interceptions. I'm not a Fulton fan but I am a fan of Football players. I think his numbers are very worthy of being Mr. Football.
