Silence!  Could it be that Brentwood Academy has had a change in their philosophy with regards to athletics or have they just not been able to find the right fit?

Two of last seasons assistant coaches have left. Both would have been good choices to be the next head coach.

The right fit was there. He just recently resigned. Must be a change in philosophy.

From what I have observed over the many years of being around private/prep/church related schools is the following:  If the school does not have a supremely strong alumni board of directors that is willing to be HEAVY HANDED with the academic world you will see athletics take a back seat.  An extremely large number of the Headmasters/Presidents/Principals either never participated in high school athletics or they did not participate in football, basketball or baseball.  For whatever reason these individuals that are closely associated with higher education feel that it is impossible to have great academics and great athletics at the same time.  I am of the opinion that a large portion of these individuals were raised in upper middle-class families, and they do not wish to deal with, nor do they understand how to relate to the "blue collar" families or families in the lower socioeconomic classes that it takes to have a really strong athletic program.

That makes sense but I don't think applies in this case. You have a Headmaster who has been there since 2000.  Clearly he understands and knows how the school can balance academics and athletics.  On paper, this looks even more stable than the Lipscomb position long term.  IMO.

I read fb247's post as referring to Brian Lilly.
