nice!  you got a date?  I think LA is also doing the 615 preps showcase on august 11th at oakland.  we probably need all we can get before opening with IMG and a brand new QB!

Pearl-Cohn is scrimmaging Lipscomb Academy and Brentwood Academy.  They will then turn around and open the 2023 season with MBA and CPA in Weeks 1 & 2.

This doesn't even include their 4A Region Schedule that includes:  Marshall County, Station Camp, White House, Greenbrier, and Creek Wood.

Their preseason scrimmage schedule, regular season schedule, and I'm sure playoff schedule will have the Firebirds ready for anything/everything by the team they reach the end of their journey.

The regular season schedule opponents for Pearl Cohn will not include any team close to the ability of MBA or CPA.  Pearl Cohn is very smart for playing tough out of region teams to get ready for the playoffs.

So why did the Cooper kid leave Lipscomb for Ensworth? 4th school in 5 years.

I think they really liked dilfer and bought into what he was selling but am not totally sure.  4 schools in 5 years probably says it all.

he's a really nice kid and I hope he finds what he or his parents are looking for.  he's a heck of an athlete, too.

It’s a prove it year for the New HC. That middle school class that Lipscomb got is serious!! Keeping them together is a must. BA is loading up from the looks of it too.

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
