Bradley central is going be bad news for us this year. Bradley will be very dangerous… I’ve never seen a team this stacked in my life coming from that area… they have a field full of college comitted players. The question is… can they finally be the team to stop the pure dominance of Oakland? I honestly don’t see maryville beating Bradley with year… boo carter and their Miami comitted quarter back. Their reciever is comitted too I can’t think his name

How is our maryvilles team looking this year? I hear Bradley central down there are going to be a monster… they’re saying that they’re going to be the best team in state by far. Have what? 4 players that are comitted already?

Maryville scrimmages Oak Ridge tomorrow night at 6. Be a good time to see how the team is looking.

I just found out. Alcoa and Bradley just scrimmaged a couple hours ago . Alcoa beat Bradley by only 1 pt but Bradley was barely coasting and leaving star players out. They said Bradley would have beat them with ease if they pushed it.

starters vs starters for 1 qtr. Alcoa 14-0.

second team, Alcoa got a safety on BC. 2-0

Third team and Freshman, BC 6-0.

Boo Carter, Marcus Goree, & Kaleb Martin played for BC.......hardly coasting as they wanted to fight after getting stuffed on a 4th and short.

The F5 punch the BC Bears in the mouth on their own field! :thumb:

You do realize Bradley is supposed to have 5 D1 players this year and they only showcased 3 today. Didn’t even have all the players there. And was not the score 14-7 in the 1st?

then Bradley’s JV beat Alcoa by a score?

I was there, all their super stars where out to show Alcoa how to play football. They had been chirping it up since the 7 on 7 at Powell. Alcoa showed them what real football is. They might have D1 players, but so does Alcoa. Alcoa was better balanced and could run the ball as well as throwing it. Both D1 Winton and D1 Owens scored.

No, Alcoa stopped them on two drives. BC Starters did not score.

JV team, BC lost yardage till they got tackled in there endzone for a safety. Alcoa's JV (Second team did not score)

BC scored against Alcoa's freshman team. It may have been BC's freshman team that scored?

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
