With the preseason over with, I think the region favorite is Mount Juliet. Gallatin lost to Clarksville, who I think is a decent team. Green Hill was embarrassed by FRA who is nothing special. Central had a surprising victory over Smyrna, and Mount Juliet lost 20-14 against Ensworth. Anyone care to update on Lebanon, Cookeville or Warren Co?

Gonna really tell this week with actual game planning and the clock running normal.  I know Gallatin got just what they needed this past week and how they respond will be what I am looking for.

Thanks, yeah I know the offense isn’t really full functioning. They are preserving their top 2 backs for good reason. Interesting to hear the D had so many lapses. Ensworth is supposed to be much improved this season in their respective class, so I don’t see that as a bad “loss” by any means. I expect MJ to contend for the region this year. even with such few seniors.

Preserving your 2 top backs ? This isn’t the NFL get them reps for the season like you said on another thread , guess it doesn’t apply to MJ.

Read back to my last “I struck a nerve” response, other thread.

You have a way of doing that. By the way I think MJ takes the Region as for my Jackets I think we will be in a battle for fourth playoff spot 1.Beech 2. Henry County 3. Hendersonville 4 ?.

Hard to win with turnovers but I hope they got that out of their system ..Clarksville has a very complexed offense and the play calling was exceptional !

I agree.  It wasn’t flawless by any stretch.   All problems are fixable and I want to see the result this week.  I liked it when they opened the offense up a little.  Jury is still out but a lot of potential with this group.

the fact that FRA will challenge for a D2AA gold ball probably makes them a tiny bit more than nothin special

1. Gallatin

2. M Juliet

3. Lebanon

4. Wilson

Going off a buddies intel. He says Juliet has the best team and it’s not close but whoever Perry is doesn’t discipline them at all so I’m going with Gallatin. They did lose the best coach they’ve had from what buddy says so who knows. Just glad some people here are active. Nobody on here ever talks about my Dragons.

    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
