West TN Rural Top 10 Week 1

I’m willing to go out on a limb and drop Haywood way down already. They’ll win some games off talent and muddle through the season. But well, enough has already been said elsewhere about their issues. Wish the new coach good luck. Who knows how things will shake it in Brownsville in the coming years with Ford coming to town.

Nice to see USJ included. Was super impressed with them last night. I was anticipating a down year after losing their coach and almost every starter on both sides of the ball. Doesn’t look like they’re going to skip a beat. Tough schedule but they’ll be in the mix. They looked like a DII-AA team last night. 
 

I thought Milan looked good on defense last night. Couldn’t quite get a read on their offense yet, but that’s also a credit to USJ’s D. There were some big boys up front for the Bulldogs. 

Seems like Peabody is down this year? Noticed their absence from the top 10 and haven’t seen any Golden Tide  threads. USJ opens with them next week and wondering what to expect. BPM I’ll chime in more on the list once we see some scores. Always fun to have you run these threads.

P.S. I’ll go out on another limb and say Trinity ends up hanging around your list before years end.

I'm not saying LC is a top 15.But don't go by just a name.Not by past years.Truthfully I dont thing Haywood would lose but about 1 game this year but QB moving may have hurt.But now ur saying ur rankings based on previous years,not how they did in scrimmages or jamborees.But yet it did,with LC losing to a larger school with 67 players But u don't have Trenton ranked by ur reasoning.Si guess pancakes aren't flat on both sides

I posted about 2 months ago if Haywood loses over 1 game,coach should be fired.Only Oakland and maybe Maplewood will give them a test.Looks to be easy schedule.

Trenton lost everyone. Haywood brings back a lot combined with the fact that their backups would start on most teams. It is truly puzzling why they have struggled in the preseason. QB is gone but they still may be the most talented team in West TN. That’s why I refuse to drop them.  Gotta see more evidence.

Lake County will have a huge opportunity to make some noise in Week 2 when they visit the friendly confines of historic J.C. Sawyers Stadium. The only question entering that contest may be whether or not the Trojan defense has been scored on in 2023 entering week 2.

Yes.Gleason should be in top 10.Maybe top 5 based on previous years and what they have returning
