Union City vs USJ

Union City is the favorite here. It’s tough to tell from the Ensworth game, but they’re likely better this year than last. As others have said, this year’s USJ team doesn’t have the talent of the past few years. But they have looked very sharp and disciplined so far. Very impressive considering there’s only a few players out there with any experience and all in a new system.

One thing I do like for USJ in this matchup is how physical their secondary played against Peabody. Just not sure if the passing game is in sync enough yet to put up the points you’ll need, especially in the second half as UC’s size, speed and style of play takes its toll.

The new USJ coach was previously the defensive coordinator at Ensworth, by the way. Really looking forward to this one!

If USJ can get to 24 points, they have a shot to win this game! USJ will play better after getting the first game under their belt. I can't see Union City scoring 30 points on this USJ team.

the heat is a factor but I fully expect UC to come out and adjust and put this away. USJ is always competitive and always will be.

UC has some quality athletes. Sloppy play tonight though. They STILL can't defend the pass. From what I've seen, they don't have the coaching to make it to Chattanooga. But best of luck.
