Oak Ridge vs Clinton

Yesterday morning I would have thought OR would win, but after the McMinn County loss and the way OR played especially on offense, it's a toss-up. Clinton has more playmakers than McMinn did and can score points, on the other hand McMinn had a stronger defense than Clinton, so it's hard to gauge. So, let's toss the coin and play. So I will be making the trip to Ron Brown Stadium (Clinton should name it after Coach Brown) and see what the results are.  It's definitely a big game and the winner should finish undefeated in the Region and have a home field playoff advantage which they will need.

Yeah, if OR plays like they did last night, Clinton can easily beat OR. It all depends upon what OR team shows up. If the team shows up that played Jeff Co and Powell, OR should win, but after seeing last night’s team, I have no idea what to expect now.

I have a feeling Oak Ridge will look much better this week.

Well, there’s a very good chance Rang may not even be on the sidelines next week because of what transpired last night, so that’s something major to take into account as well.

We'll, they also have an entire week to prepare for him not being there unlike the McMinn County game. I think OR will be just fine. They'll be fired up I'm sure.

I know it's difficult to be positive after a loss.

It is! We looked really bad. I always prefer to give the opposing team credit, which I did last night, but OR just looked completely out of sorts. I don’t know what it is, but we always struggle with McMinn here in recent memory. And seems like there’s always some kind of drama. A really tough place to play for our guys it seems. I look forward to some respectful banter with you this week!

This has always been my favorite game of the year. I don't care if OR is 5-0 and Clinton is 0-5, I love it when these 2 teams play each other.

    • The down year for SP was last year, when their whole team was young and they graduated a bunch of seniors from 2023, this year they’ll be back to hoisting gold, literally a normal day for them
    • Thanks to Jones, u do have to develop these guys at some point, and bringing in Chaz doesn’t do anything but push Gibbs and potentially Johnston to the bench..
    • Exactly, I’m pretty sure he’s the same guy to slander KC for bringing in transfers but this guy has recruited an all star team with underclassmen and all of a sudden he’s the “best in the state” he’s gonna have to prove it
    • Sounds like this league will be Maryville and then everyone else. Ole Test Proctor Rang will find a way to screw it up.    Beerden lost everyone on their team expect the white kids that can't play dead in a western. Bumbling Brad thought he could keep all of crick neck’s criminals by being the HC, but that didn’t work out at all.    Bradlee might be okay by their standards after getting a couple Cleevland transfers, but Dummy Damon will find a way to lose some he shouldn't.     Cleevland lost Trick Play Tygard won't be relevant unless Loan Shark Jones gives more too football than wrestling. Back to irrelevancy again for the Bum Blue Rayders   Fairygut(aka Knox Catholic's AAA affiliate), good lord what a train wreck this is becoming. Holier Than Though's boy is in WAY over his head. They're lucky HVA and Beerden are in this league.    Hardin Vallee, this school hasn't been relevant and never will be. They can't seem to get out of their own way. Ole Egghead will be lucky if he has one game that isn't a running clock, unfortunately it's 30 instead of 35 now.    Merrieville has been the surprise of the offseason. It looks like Dooright Derek went rogue and sold his soul to the devil to get players. If what I've hear is true, it's a BIG departure from the old Rebels. Funny how things happen when you're feeling pressure. I guess this house flipping and contraction companies are supporting his recruiting habit.     Choke Ridge, need I say more  the name rings truer today than ever with old Test Proctor Rang at the helm. By virtue of talent, they should finish 2nd in this region, but I'm sure they will screw it up     My prediction: 1) Merrieville 2) Bradlee 3) Choke Ridge 4) Cleeveland 5) Fairygut 6) Beerden 7)Hardin Vallee
